Desperate Housewives Humorous Drama & Holiday Ideas for Fans

Who doesn’t love Desperate Housewives? Unless you’re from another planet or not yet a fan then you know that Desperate Housewives follows the lives of several women on perfect Wisteria Lane. The women we love to laugh with and hope for are: clumsy Susan Mayer (Teri Hatcher), Super mom Lynette Scavo (Felicity Huffman), perfectly put together Bree Van de Kamp (Marcia Cross), and Glamorous Gabrielle Solis (Eva Longoria Parker). Parts of the show are narrated by the girl’s dead neighbor and friend Mary Alice Young (Brenda Strong).

You may not know that Desperate House wives was inspired by the movie American Beauty.

The first season begins with Mary Alice Young committing suicide and the women of Wisteria lane getting together to try and figure out the mystery. We also learn about all of the women’s personal struggles as Susan has hilarious fights with provocative neighbor Edie Britt (Nicollette Sheridan) over the affections of new handsome neighbor Mike Delfino (James Denton), Bree works on her troubled marriage, Lynette is trying to manage her children, and bored Gabrielle is having an affair with young and handsome gardener John Rowland (Jesse Metcalfe) and trying to prevent her husband Carlos (Ricardo Chavira) from finding out. She will do anything to keep her affair going including rushing home during a party to mow the lawn in her gown. She has been having the affair with John instead of having him take care of the lawn and Carlos is about ready to fire him.

In the second season Susan has to deal with her ex-husband getting engaged to Edie. Bree is now a widow and only wants to show her perfect face to the world. Gabrielle breaks it off with John and works it out with her husband Carlos. Gabrielle and Carlos try to have a baby. At the end of the season Mike gets run over by Orson Hodge (Kyle Maclachlan) the dentist who eventually becomes Bree’s husband.

The third season finds new drama and humor Susan begins to date a mysterious Englishman who she met in the hospital. Both Mike and the Englishman’s wife are in commas as the romance begins. Gabrielle is getting divorced from Carlos and they have some hilarious arguments. Gabrielle starts dating the mayor. Bree marries Orson the dentist. Lynette finds out her husband has another difficult child who comes to live with them and her husband Tom wants to open a pizza shop. Edie manipulates Mike while he is waking from the comma. She is able to start dating him.

In the forth season Susan makes up with Mike and is now married and pregnant. Gabrielle is having an affair with ex-husband Carlos. Lynette learns she has cancer and she receives support from all of her friends. Katherine Mayfair (Dana Delany) moves back into town with her daughter who doesn’t remember the place. Katherine is running from her abusive ex. New gay couple Bob and Lee move into mix things up. In the end a tornado changes everyone’s lives.

Season five begins five years after the previous season and has flashbacks to catch up the audience. Susan is a single mom with a son and is dating Jackson. Gabrielle is remarried to Carlos and has two daughters Juanita and Celia. Lynette has fought cancer and now must deal with the stress of her son having an affair with a married woman. Her son is also accused of setting a fire that killed someone. Edie’s husband Dave is the main antagonist of the season as he tries to get revenge on the person who killed his wife and daughter in a car accident.

We are now into season six with Susan being married to Mike after he leaves Katherine for her. Katherine must learn to deal with losing her love. Gabrielle is married to Carlos and fighting with Lynette who has threatened to sue Carlos. Carlos finds out Lynette is pregnant after she is almost due. We have to keep watching to find out what happens next…

Desperate House wives are addictive, and have many funny scenes. Some you will understand completely though on a more dramatic level. Once you get addicted you won’t want to stop watching.
